Voy and Second Nature are weight-loss programmes offering Wegovy and Mounjaro weight-loss injections alongside a digital weight-loss programme.
Second Nature also offers a weight-loss programme without medication, and you can find more about this programme here.
The main noticeable difference between Voy and Second Nature is the length of time these companies have been operating and the credibility that Second Nature has developed over the past 7 years of working in the NHS and supporting patients living with obesity and type 2 diabetes.
During this time, we’ve published over seven years of clinical data analysing the impact of the Second Nature programme on weight loss and type 2 diabetes.
In comparison, Voy is a very new brand that was launched as a sub-brand to its parent company, Manual. Manual is a men’s health brand specialising in hair loss and fertility and launched Voy in 2024.
As of September 2024, Voy has no affiliation with the NHS or published research outlining its effectiveness.
Still, there are similarities between the two programmes, which we’ve summarised below.
The three main similarities between Voy and Second Nature
- Whole-food approach to weight loss: Both programmes recommend a whole-food-rich diet to support sustainable weight loss.
- Pharmacy partnerships: Both companies are partnered with a pharmacy to deliver the programme and ensure the clinical safety of all patients.
- Health coaches and nutritionists: Both programmes utilise the expertise of registered nutritionists or dietitians as health coaches to provide personalised support.
Additionally, there are several key differences between the two programmes that go beyond the level of experience that we’ve described above. These are summarised below.
The three main differences between Voy and Second Nature
1) Second Nature is used by the NHS
Another critical difference between Voy and Second Nature is Second Nature’s relationship with the NHS.
Since 2017, the NHS has commissioned us to deliver weight loss and type 2 diabetes programmes across the UK.
Over half of all UK NHS Health and Care boards use Second Nature services.
Second Nature can provide you with peace of mind that you’re on a programme that’s been clinically designed and used by the NHS since 2017.
While our Wegovy and Mounjaro weight-loss programmes are private and not currently used by the NHS, we’ve built the programmes focusing on scientific evidence, patient safety, and data security.
In comparison, Voy has no affiliations with the NHS or trusted healthcare providers in the UK. (This isn’t to say they won’t continue to grow and develop these partnerships in the future.)
2) Second Nature is clinically proven
Second Nature has over seven years of published clinical data outlining its effectiveness.
In December 2023, we published a paper outlining the impact of our medication-supported programme on weight loss. The paper showed that after 3 months, our members lost an average of 4.4 kg, with 62.5% achieving at least 5% weight loss by this stage.
Additionally, our programme is proven to support individuals living with type 2 diabetes to lower their blood sugar levels.
So much so that our original pilot in Portsmouth with the NHS showed that 40% of patients lowered their HbA1c (average blood sugar levels) below the diagnostic threshold for type 2 diabetes. Putting them on the path to potential remission in the future.
In comparison, Voy doesn’t currently have any published data in medical journals showcasing the impact of their programme on weight loss, blood sugar control, or other health markers.
However, this will likely change in the future as the company grows and collects more data.
3) Cost and Trustpilot reviews
- The total monthly cost of the Second Nature programme, including GLP-1 medication, is £229, rising to £299
- It’s unclear how much the Voy programme costs, as they don’t advertise it on their website. You’d need to complete the consultation flow before finding out.
- Based on 7,483 reviews, Second Nature has a Trustpilot score of 4.8 and is rated as ‘Excellent’
- Voy’s current Trustpilot score based on 2,420 reviews is 4.6, and are rated as ‘Excellent’

Weight-loss injections are most effective when combined with a healthier lifestyle. They can help kickstart weight loss while you commit to developing healthier habits.
Mounjaro and other weight loss injections, like Ozempic and Wegovy, can allow you to make lifestyle changes to support long-term weight loss.
These medications can help silence food-related thoughts and give you a boost of confidence with more immediate weight-loss results.
They can also buy you the time and headspace to understand why your body may have struggled to lose weight and build new long-term healthy habits.
The core focus of our medication programmes is to calm down the feeling of food noise, lower your cravings, and allow you to build healthier habits to keep the weight off for good.
The ultimate goal is to make losing weight feel second nature.
Second Nature’s medication-supported programmes
Second Nature has two medication-supported programmes: a Wegovy weight-loss programme and a Mounjaro weight-loss programme.
If you’ve made the decision to try Wegovy or Mounjaro (assuming you’re eligible), why should you choose Second Nature over other medication providers?
For peace of mind.
Second Nature has worked with the NHS for over 6 years, providing weight-loss programmes across the UK.
Whilst our Wegovy and Mounjaro weight-loss programmes are private and not currently used by the NHS, we’ve built the programmes with a focus on scientific evidence, patient safety, and data security.
We hope that our 6+ years of working with the NHS and building a track record of effective weight-loss results will give you peace of mind to give us a try.
